Pet Therapy
The Hope Center has invited some very special volunteers to help with their clients...therapy dogs. The dogs are used by the therapist to help the patients achieve their physical goals for the day. They motivate the patients to work hard while having fun. The patients, family and staff all benefit from working with our dogs.
Each dog is registered with a national organization called Therapy Dogs Inc. and many also have their Canine Good Citizen Certificates. They volunteer at hospitals, libraries, schools, nursing homes, and other city events.
We, as handlers , enjoy helping people in a special way and contributing to our community. Our dogs are happy, loving, friendly and very willing to work with members of the Lake Charles area. We will be proud to have people visit us online at http://www.swlahumanesociety.com.
